Oxidizing Silver with 'Silver Black' Solution
Silver Black Solution
Sterling Wire
Sterling Silver Component
Steel Wool
Pro-polish Pads
Step 1
Make a catch for your
component to dip it into the
solution with
sterling silver
wire.
Step 2
Pour solution into a cup.

CAUTION:  BE SURE TO
MARK A DESIGNATED CUP
TO USE.
Step 5
Dip your component into the
solution.
Step 6
Your component will darken
completely instantly.
Step 7
Run the component under
water to take off the excess
solution.
Step 9
Brush the component with  
steel wool.
Step 10
The steel wool will take away
the oxidation exposing the
texture.
Step 11
Brush the steel wool on the
back side.
Step 12
Rub the component with a
pro-polish pad to shine.


Clean Up!
DO NOT POUR INTO DRAIN!
To dispose, pour back into the
bottle or use baking soda to
soak up the excess solution
that wasn't used.
Using with Gemstones
Beware when using with
gemstones.  We found it's safe
to be in contact with most of
them.  DO NOT dip
coral or
pearls into solution.
